The Japanese Coast Guards have acquired several Falcon 2000LXS (called in Japan MSA for Maritime Surveillance Aircraft). They have been operating Falcon 900 aircraft since the 1990s and are therefore strengthening their maritime surveillance capabilities.
In July, the Japanese station NIPPI based at Shizuoka airport, 150km from Tokyo, called on DFS to intervene on the Falcon 2000LXS SN 342. Problem encountered: a fuel leak on the wing at rib 17.
DFS mobilized an aero-structure technician who went on site to apply a technical instruction written by Dassault Structure Repair which consisted injecting sealing compound into the tank through drilled screws. After 2 days of work, the NIPPI station performed air leak tests followed by fuel tests. Conclusion: no leak detected.
Here’s yet another successful troubleshooting performed by DFS and his experts, achieved despite the exceptional nature of the work considering the remoteness of the location.
