MODERNISATION OF THE H3 MAINTENANCE HANGAR AT DFS LE BOURGET
January 15th, DFS formally inaugurated one of its maintenance hangars located on Le Bourget airport following its modernization, in attendance of Mr. Pierre-Etienne AUBIN, General Manager of DFS, Mr. Eric TRAPPIER, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, and Mr. Loïk Segalen, Managing Director of Dassault Aviation.
This modernization, which began on April 1, 2019 and lasted about 8 months, expanded the hangar to 4,300 m², instead of the original 2,500 m². The extension now has a height of 18 meters against 11 meters before the work, and is equipped with an overhead crane for the removal of the engines. Still capable of accommodating 4 Falcons simultaneously, this historic hangar dating from the 1970s now has 350 m² of storage space, electrical systems and compressed air buried for each aircraft slot, LED lighting, and 3 doors 32 meters long by 10 meters high.
In his inaugural speech, Mr. Aubin insisted on the short- and medium-term strategic challenges of this modernization, in particular being able to accomodate the latest addition of Dassault fleet, namely the Falcon 7X, 8X and 6X.
